Remembering Rexburg

Recently I have been in conversation with my friends who are living in Rexburg Idaho and it has brought back some great memories of my time there over the past 4 years. Currently I live in Alabama where diversity reigns, humidity suffocates, BBQ permeates, and a green forest surrounds. My friends in Rexbrug have reminded me of how beautiful it was up there in the summer time and I wanted to share some photographs I had taken of the area surrounding Rexburg Idaho.

Rexburg is so flat you can see for miles. There is so much open space up there I felt confined when I first moved to Alabama and had to escape the beach to see open space. Honestly I don’t regret being “forced” to the beach. These photographs were taken using a style of photography I used to be very involved in known as HDR. It is a method of photography which hopes to bring out the scene your eye could see, but your camera couldn’t capture. The open fields of grain, and the looming rain clouds stretched across the land as far as the eye could see. The vastness of the place was awe-inspiring, dumbfounding, and beautiful. I always sought to capture that feeling with these HDR shots and feel these few could display a small aspect of that.
