The Norris Family

I marvel at my desire to wander. I love to experience the new, see the before unseen, challenge the open road, all the while feeling the rush of not knowing what is around the next corner. With this love to wander and move I have a firm belief in having something stable to fall back on. You can only wander so much before you need a place of refuge and security.

Over three months ago I graduated from BYU-Idaho with a major in Communications, and emphasis studies in Graphic Design, CIT, Photography, and Interpersonal Communication. God saw fit to bless me with a job with the Magazine Coastal Living right out of college. I went home for christmas, but only stayed there for a week and a half before I packed up most of what I own and started my next adventure. I was driving to Birmingham Alabama! If you don’t know, I am from Wyoming, I grew up on a dairy farm, and I have lived in Los Angeles and Rexburg Idaho over the past several years. Why L.A. you ask, well I served a mission for my church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for two years down there. It was there I fell in love with the city and Rexburg was where I was going to school, and I love it there as well. I have a good mix of love for the city and the country. But that day I left Cody Wyoming and headed out to Birmingham Alabama my excitement was on a high! If there were such a thing as an excitement for an adventure meter you could say mine was on the “Bouncing off the ceiling” level.

I arrived in Birmingham on New Years Eve. It was pouring rain like I had never seen in my life and I was trying to adjust to the humidity as a sheen of perspiration coated my skin. This night I would meet my form of stability which any adventurer needs. I met the Norris Family. Not the “Chuck Norris” family, but they might as well be that amazing to me. I was taken in as one of their own and have since been treated as such. There isn’t enough good which can be said of this family and all of their members. I had the opportunity to go with their family and take some candid pictures as they gathered to have a new member of the family sealed to the family in the Birmingham Alabama Temple. The love within this family is tangible. I wanted to capture the love they have for each other as I took the pictures. I showcase a few of them here, but know no matter the quality of the photographs, you will never be able to capture the love this family has for each other, and other people such as myself.

I still go on adventures almost every weekend, but this family has provided a place of security for me when I am done adventuring, and I will always be grateful for them for their love and support.

Love these photos! And can’t agree more… I am so lucky to have married into such a wonderful family! Hoping that you can schedule our little family for a session before you leave on more adventures!

Who I am.

Hi my name is Jared George and I am a photographer. One of the best ways to describe me is a moving, wandering, thrill seeking, nostalgic memory maker. Photography has become a beautiful conduit to channel my passion for life and until recently I always lived in the future, or regretted the past.

Now I live each day seeking to create a new memory. I believe our lives should not be lived by the passing of days on a calendar, but by the memories which come from those days. Just like a tumbleweed in the Wyoming wind I go where life takes me until something grabs me for a while then continue with the wind.
